Hello my name is Sydney Bull, and welcome to my electronic portfolio homepage, please feel free to look around and send me feedback. I am 25 years-old and a graduate from the University of Utah; with a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Recreation and Sports Management. I am from Huntertown, Indiana and I moved to Utah not only to further my education, but also my swimming career. I have been on the Lady Ute's Swim and Dive team for five years and have developed a passionate relationship with the sport since I was eight-years-old; which is the main reason why I love working in the sports industry. I am currently a Recreation and Aquatics Coordinator at Basin Recreation Fieldhouse working alongside the Facility Manager and learning more about land and water programming. My goal here is to improve the swim instructors performance and skills in order to see more progression from the students, therefore leading to higher numbers in participation as well as revenue. I specialize in swim instruction and coaching because I have spent many years experimenting and developing great teaching skills. As a former student-athlete I have naturally developed many attributes throughout the last seven years that would be favorable in the workplace; I am intrinsically motivated, hard working, reliable, and enthusiastic. I am also the type of person who never quits. Two years ago, I broke my neck and was presented the perfect opportunity to give up, but my perseverance not only gave me a second chance in my sport, but a second chance at my education. I believe this comeback gave me the type of personality that many managers love because I will do what ever it takes to reach a goal and be successful.
