About Me
Hello there! I'm Sydney, and welcome to my online portfolio! Feel free to look around and send me feedback if you'd like.
Two years ago I graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Community Recreation and Sports Management. I am from Huntertown, Indiana and I moved to Utah not only to further my education, but also my swimming career. I was on the Lady Ute's Swim and Dive team for five years and have developed a passionate relationship with the sport since I was eight-years-old. I have been surrounded by sports my entire life, which is the main reason why I wanted to work in Sports Management after I graduated. I am currently an Aquatics and Recreation Coordinator for Basin Recreation in Park City, Utah; working alongside the Facility Manager and evolving my skills in land and water programming. I specialize in coaching and swim instruction because I have spent many years experimenting and developing great teaching skills. My philosophy is located in the video below and I invite you to check it out. As a former student-athlete I have naturally developed many attributes that would be favorable in the workplace; I am intrinsically motivated, hard working, reliable, and enthusiastic. I am also the type of person who never quits. Two years ago I was presented with the perfect opportunity to give up, but my perseverance not only gave me a second chance in my sport, but a second chance at my education and it gave me the type of personality that many managers love because I will do what ever it takes to reach a goal and be successful.
