Swim Utah Marketing Research Plan 2015
PRT-3211 Marketing
Swim Utah is a Non-Profit Parent owned Organization registered with the State of Utah and maintains charitable contribution status (501c3). It relies upon the members (parents/guardians of swimmers) to volunteer for the Board of Trustees to ensure the viability and smooth operation of the club. Susan Winter is the Swim Utah Board President and communicates between the USA Swimming Association, Utah Swimming Incorporation (USI), committee members and club members concerning bylaws and club structure.
Swim Utah offers year round professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities under 18. The club’s coaches strive to provide the highest quality instruction so that swimmers may reach their full individual potential. Swim Utah is a great club for those looking for an environment to learn, improve and thrive.
The organization’s main marketing objectives are to; create a better awareness of the club, host a Swim-A-Thon fundraiser to raise money for operating costs and host a free informational swim clinic in hopes of increasing the team population by 25%. Swim Utah has been under the radar for many years, and the modest swim club looks to improve their image by designing persuasive advertisements that invite individuals to join this team.

Make A Splash 2016 FY Budget & Financial Goals
PRT-5395 Financial Management in PRT
The new swimming program will be offered to local elementary students, individuals with special needs and private groups from around the Salt Lake area. We received a grant of $75,000 from the USA Swimming Make a Splash Foundation in order to run free “learn-to-swim clinics” to children of Salt Lake City. The USA Swimming Foundation raises funds to support programs that save lives and build champions–in the pool and in life. As the philanthropic arm of USA Swimming, the USA Swimming Foundation works to strengthen the sport from grassroots to gold medals. I felt it was necessary to add a swim program to our organization because it will help the younger generation of the Salt Lake Community learn to swim and hopefully it creates more investment in the sport. In the future Utah is the least capitalized state when it comes to swimming as far as facilities and club swimming participation goes. Therefore our organization contacted USA Swimming and asked for a grant to help increase awareness throughout the area as well as teach young Utahan’s how to swim.
